  • EXPLORE CATAN: Set sail to the uncharted island of Catan and compete with other settlers to establish supremacy.
  • RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: Strategically gather and trade resources like ore, brick, lumber, grain, and wool to expand your settlements.
  • BUILD AND UPGRADE: Use your resources to build roads, settlements, and cities to earn victory points.
  • DYNAMIC GAMEPLAY: Roll the dice to collect resources based on terrain hexes, and employ clever tactics to outmaneuver your opponents.
  • CLASSIC GAME: Celebrate the 25th anniversary of CATAN, a timeless strategy board game loved by players worldwide.

Your adventurous settlers seek to tame the remote but rich isle of Catan. Start by revealing Catan's many harbors and regions: pastures, fields, mountains, hills, forests, and desert. The random mix creates a different board virtually every game. Guide your settlers to victory by clever trading and cunning development. Use resource combinations- grain, wool, ore, brick, and lumber-to buy handy development cards and build roads, settlements, and cities. Acquire your resources through trades, cards, or lucky dice (even outside your turn). But beware! Someone might cut off your road or buy a monopoly. And you never know when the wily robber might steal some of your precious gains! Catan((aka The Settlers of Catan) has been awarded with "Game of the Year," "Hall of Fame," and even "Game of the Century" honors in Germany, the United States, and a host of other countries worldwide. An international favorite, it's been called the "Perfect Social Game." Catan contains: 19 unique hexagonal terrain tile, 6 coastal frame pieces, 9 extra harbor pieces, 20 wooden settlements, 16 wooden cities, 60 wooden roads, 95 resource cards, 25 development cards, 4 building costs cards, 2 special bonus cards, 18 number tokens, 2 six-sided dice, 1 wooden robber pawn, simple rules & almanac.

Never a dull game!

THRILLING game! Have never failed to have a good time playing. It’s always a hit! At first, I thought it was going to be game with a fantasy plot but I was very wrong! Catan is like the farmers monopoly but more interactive with every turn, and not as long of a game time. Pros: I don’t think I’ve ever played a boring game! Basic rules are fairly easy to understand and get the hang of after your first game or two. You can play casually or get deep into strategy. Offers a fun and lighthearted but competitive plot. Perfect for small groups. Cons: There are smaller game play rules that can be tricky to remember, but the game will still flow without them. The quality of the set I received felt a bit flimsy and some of the printing came off of the pieces as I popped them out of their cardboard holders. You can only play with 3 or 4 people unless you have the expansion pack. Overall, I recommend this game and bring it to a lot of game nights. On a separate note: the makers of the game seem to keep making different variations (ex. Starwars, settlers, 3D, new energies, etc). This feels a tad gimmicky to me but I know it’s had a massive following over the years so maybe it’s what the market wants!

Best board game ever.

Hands down one of the best board games ever. So many different strategies can be used. Attractive design. Takes a little bit to learn so don’t expect the first time to be easy or make complete sense but by the end, you will ‘get it’. Challenging for intense folks and fun for the laid back ones. A little bit of luck mixes with communication skills and strategy. Love it! Actually bought this one for a friend’s family.

Learn how to negotiate with this game.

One of my favorite games. I think I’ve purchased this about four times. Easy to learn. For teens to adults.

Let Me Say This:

A Family Favorite for Fun and Strategy

We got the Catan board game as a family activity, and it’s quickly become a favorite in our house. It’s perfect for when we want something more engaging than a quick card game but not as exhausting as Monopoly. The game is all about building settlements, trading resources, and strategizing your way to victory. My husband and I enjoy the strategy, while the kids (ages 11 and 13) get a kick out of outsmarting us with their trades. The setup takes a little time, but once you’ve got the hang of it, it’s pretty straightforward. We love that the board changes each time you play, so it doesn’t feel repetitive. There’s also a lot of friendly competition - though “friendly” gets tested when someone blocks a road or refuses a trade! Games can take about an hour or more, which makes it a nice choice for family nights when we have the time to sit down together. Catan keeps everyone thinking, laughing, and occasionally groaning (usually me when I lose). Highly recommend it for families with older kids who enjoy a bit of strategy and a lot of fun.

Engaging, strategic n fun game

It’s such an interesting game which can keep kids engaged for a long time. It helps kids strategize n plan accordingly. As it’s a multiplayer game, many can enjoy. We loved it so much that we even referred this game to others n they too bought it. It’s a nice game to keep kids away from screens too. Not just kids, adults also can play this game

Fun boardgame for casual competitve play.

I very much enjoy this game and have been playing it for years! Quite fun as a casual game for Board Game Nights, easy to learn. I purchased this copy as a gift for a sibling and it's been well received - so passing on the baton of Settlers of Catan!
