Not fit enough. Not smart enough. Not accomplished enough. Not confident enough. Not a good enough mom or wife or daughter or sister or friend.Do you ever feel like you cant shake these thoughts, no matter what you do?Despite knowing better, do you find yourself mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, comparing yourself with all those super gorgeous lifestyle bloggers and wondering what they even do for a living? Or maybe to that popular girl from high school whose life still looks perfect? Or to those moms who manage to always look rested, put together, and dress their kids in the cutest outfits? If your answer is yes to any of those, I have one thing to say: I feel you, babe.I used to struggle with these feelings all the time, and to be honest, sometimes I still do. I think we all do. Sometimes these thoughts are short lived, slipping away as fast as they came. But other times, the feeling of not being enough can linger for days or even weeks. Sometimes you get so used to feeling bad about yourself that you dont even notice that its been a few years since you actually felt good. That critical voice inside your head constantly reminds you that you arent enough and then tells you that youll never be enough until you Lose those last 10 pounds, get rid of your baby weight, or tone your arms some more. Get a promotion, a raise, or a bonus. Cook a delicious, yet healthy, meal for your family and pack perfect lunches for the kids, preferably the night before, because thats what good moms do, right? Learn another skill that will let you change your resume from intermediate to proficient. Do your makeup and get your eyebrows waxed, eyelashes filled, and nails done. Find a significant other and get married, plan the perfect wedding, and then throw the perfect cocktail parties, just like your exbest friend from high school (thanks, Facebook, for throwing those photos in my face!). After that, buy a nicer car and a bigger house, and after that Look, I get it. For years, I thought the solution to not being good enough was to simply have more and do more. I thought if I just worked harder on myself, then I would have more to be happy about, which would eventually make me feel better about myself as a whole. But the trick with this kind of thinking is that it never ends. And guess what. No matter how much weight I lost, how many nice things I bought, or how much I accomplished, that underlying feeling of not being enough didnt go away. If anything, it got worse over time.Eventually, I had to find another way.

This Book is a Literal Godsend
Iβm only a couple pages in, but I know this book has the potential to change my life. I have struggled with mental illness and eating disorders for most of my life. Iβve been in therapy on and off since I was two. I was hospitalized again in February 2021, and I thought there was no hope for me, and that Iβd be like this my entire life. I first was introduced to Mary by someone I met in eating disorder treatment. I had just downloaded Instagram for the first time and the person who recommended Maryβs Instagram to me said it had been very helpful to her to have bodies like hers on her feed. And it was, for me too. But Mary, like all of us, is so much more than a body. She talks about sex positivity, body image, self-love, and the one Iβve needed the most, self worth. I found her podcast about a year ago, and itβs so refreshing. I was thrilled to hear she was releasing a book this year. I pre-ordered it and it came in the mail right on launch day. I dug right in. I got my chai latte at the coffee shop on my college campus. (I rarely ever order chai lattes - too many calories and not enough caffeine, or so I thought). I sat and read for what I thought was 10 minutes, but turned out to be 45. I felt this huge weight lift off my shoulders as I read what she wrote: I canβt fix you, because you are not broken. You never have been broken and never will be broken. Since then, Iβve been feeling significantly better. Sheβs right, you do have to do the work. But it is 1000000% worth it. My life is changing, because of this book. Iβve longed for that for forever.
To any human out there who wants to spread more love in this world

This is DEFINITELY not your typical self-help book; it's compassionate, actionable, and acknowledges that everybody is coming to their self love journey with a slightly different experience. Mary shares her own stories in a way that is relatable and uses them to convey powerful lessons to the reader. I saw myself reflected in her, and was able to see where in my life I'm struggling with similar issues. What I appreciate most is that the book was in a workbook format so there were many opportunities to journal about the lessons or guidance she provided. It allowed me the time and space to apply the takeaway to my life. I feel like I'm walking away with real life tools, instead of just empowering quotes or ideas that will fade away as time passes. I highly, highly recommend this book and Mary's podcast (Mary's Cup of Tea) to any human out there who wants to love themselves and spread more love in this world. I cannot wait to start the 100 Days of Self-Love guided journal and see what Mary publishes in the future.
Beautiful, connected, and authentic!
I started following Mary about a year ago. After being in a fitness group where I felt embarrassed and not good enough a friend from college put together a little empowerment group where people posted resources for positivity and mental health. Someone posted a link to Mary's social media and said how life-changing it is to follow her. I thought it was so neat that we live in the same state and I casually followed her stuff. Then I began listening to the podcasts and listening to her advice on things. Mary has even responded to my DMs or comments a few times, I hope to attend a full retreat. I preordered her book the second it was announced because I knew it would be genuine. I didn't think it was going to be a self-help book where I felt talked at or like my life wasn't good enough because I don't want to wake up super early and grind super hard. I am happy if others do but its just, not me and I want to feel accepted not ashamed. This book feels like it is made out of love. Instead of a full-out chapter book, it is a workbook filled with Mary's testaments on her own life and then it has activities that she personally does. I think my favorite part is the authenticity. It doesn't feel like it was written to make a paycheck. It was made out of love and is truly the Gift of Self-Love. Thank you Mary!
Written by a real person
I love that this was written by someone who knows first hand what it's like to live with struggles. It's easy for a professional to tell us what we need to be doing; it's much nicer to have someone speak from experience. I'm only on page 29 and I have been using my highlighter because there is some great information to help with loving yourself. I look forward to completing this workbook and hopefully loving myself more.
A beautiful and heart felt workbook for all ages and stages.
Love, love, LOVE this workbook. Mary is an amazing person to follow on social media but even if that's not your thing - you need this book. For starters, yes, I must acknowledge that it is beautiful and tactile-y pleasant. I'm a HSP (highly sensitive person) and a lot of paper textures and sounds can be very off putting and send me into a little bit of an over-stimulated doom spiral. I know, it sounds ridiculous to mention but hey, surely I am not alone in this... SO, fellow reviewer readers - for me, this is a safe book from a sensory standpoint. Moving on to the meat of the book itself, Mary did a beautiful job of sharing her own experiences while leaving room for the reader to personalize their own journey through the workbook. It is warm, inviting, honest, silly and heart felt. There are so many places to write in notes, doodle encouragements or the like. It doesn't come off as "too self help-y" to me - more of an inclusive and celebratory road map to falling in love with self love. Thanks Mary, I'm so proud of you!
Great book with superior content
This book is GREAT. I have finished just like 1/4th of it and Iβm already amazed by how much positivity it brings me. I love how she shares her personal experiences to help us feel like weβre not alone. One of the best self-love books Iβve read in a long time.
This Book Is So Important!!
This book is a must read! I have struggled so much with body image issues and self love for awhile. I found out about Mary almost a year ago. I was scrolling through instagram and her picture came up. Her caption was so inspirational and made me feel good about myself. Ever since then, I have been an active follower and supporter of Mary. When I heard Mary was coming out with her own book that was going to be packed full of her personal experiences, her advice and her self love/acceptance exercises, I was completely in! This book gives great advice and gives you the tools to live a happier, more confident and self loving life. Although I am still on my journey towards self love and acceptance, this book has made me feel less alone and it's pretty cool seeing how big Mary's community is. We all love and support each other! That is an incredible feeling. No matter what your age is, or how you feel about yourself, this book in my opinion is a must read and will teach you so much about yourself. I am so incredibly grateful that I stumbled upon Mary's instagram. And if Mary ever see's this, thank you for your wisdom and being so vulnerable with your life and experiences. That's not easy to do. Thank you for connecting with your community and making us feel so loved, valued and welcomed. I am 20 years old now and I wish when I was a little girl I had someone like you to look up to, but I am so glad that I can learn now and hopefully one day I can be someone others look up to :)
La revolucion del amor propio
El mejor libro que he leido sobre el amor propio. Esta plagado de preguntas/actividades que te hacen reflexionar y sanar. Mi mejor compra
A book full of love β€
Dear Mary, thank you so much for this masterpiece! I was struggling with my self image for years. Then I found your account and you have no idea how much you helped me. As soon as you mentioned your book, I knew, I needed it in my life. And I don't regret anything. This is such a great book. To those who aren't sure whether to buy it or not, do it. There are lots of exercises in it. It's not one of those books where someone tells you you're great over many pages. It's a book that helps you discover yourself. You will find your strength, your beauty and your worth by yourself! And don't worry, you will start at the very beginning, so it doesn't matter at what point you are at your journey to selflove. Just one quick thought at the end. This book is clearly written by and for women. And that's totally fine. But I would love to see another book like that for all genders in the future. Maybe there will be another one for males. Or a gender neutral one. But hey, go and buy it anyway!
